Effective date: April 22, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding legal agreement between you and Hoza, operated by its founder as a sole proprietor based in Arizona (“Hoza,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Hoza mobile application or related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
Hoza helps you save and invest more of what you earn by showing you where you actually spend it and making it easy to take action. It connects to your bank, credit card, and investment accounts (read-only, via Plaid), surfaces insights and AI-generated suggestions, and gives you quick ways to act on them — such as setting spending limits, drafting subscription cancellations, or deep-linking to your own bank’s transfer or investment flows.
Hoza is not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser, lender, tax preparer, or money transmitter. Hoza does not move money, place trades, execute transfers, or hold funds. Any action on your accounts must be performed by you through your own financial institution.
You may use the Service only if:
To use most features of Hoza, you must create an account with a valid email and password. You agree to:
We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you’ve violated these Terms (see Section 10).
Hoza uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect to your financial accounts. When you link an account, you authorize Plaid to access your account information on our behalf, and you authorize Hoza to receive and use that information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Your use of Plaid within Hoza is also governed by Plaid’s own End User Privacy Policy. Access is read-only: Hoza cannot initiate transfers, payments, or trades on your connected accounts. You can revoke Plaid’s access at any time at my.plaid.com.
Hoza’s chat and proactive insights are generated by large language models (currently Anthropic’s Claude). AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong. Treat AI-generated content as a starting point for your own thinking, not as a definitive answer. We do not guarantee any specific financial outcome, savings amount, or recommendation quality.
Do not rely on AI-generated content for medical, legal, tax, or investment decisions. Consult a licensed professional for those.
You agree NOT to:
You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Before acting on any information from Hoza, consider consulting a licensed financial advisor, CPA, or attorney. Past performance and historical data do not guarantee future results.
Hoza is free to use during our current beta period. We may introduce paid subscription tiers in the future. If we do:
By you: You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete account, which triggers the data deletion process described in our Privacy Policy.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15) will survive.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF DATA. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
Financial data shown in Hoza comes from third parties (primarily Plaid and your financial institutions) and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Always verify critical information with your financial institution directly.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOZA AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US$50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Hoza and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including privacy or intellectual property rights; or (d) any dispute between you and a third party related to your use of the Service.
Please read carefully. This section affects your legal rights.
Binding arbitration. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service (a “Dispute”) will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration will be held in Maricopa County, Arizona, or another mutually agreed location. Judgment on the arbitrator’s award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class action waiver. You and Hoza each agree that any Dispute will be brought in an individual capacity only, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated, or representative action. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any class or representative proceeding.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court, or seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property infringement or misuse.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@gethoza.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” and your full name and the email tied to your account. Opting out will not affect any other provision of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Section 14, any claim not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you in-app and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
